01 ANTIM GRAHAN Back To Raze The Scene:

After almost 2 years of hiatus, melodic black metallers ANTIM GRAHAN are back in Kathmandu’s scene with a little change in the line up. “It’s really awesome to be able to be a part of this scene once more. Everyone is so pumped up and we have been writing new songs and also practicing for over a week”, tells the ever excited Parash Shakya, frontman of the band. He further informs, “We plan on recording our 3rd album as soon as we finish with the writing. We wanna take a little time for the recording though because we are working with a completely new bassist.”

02 VHUMI Recording Debut Album:

Melodic Death metal band VHUMI are in the process of releasing their debut album in a couple of months. “We have been recording songs at Our Studio, Putalisadak and we are planning to finish around 8 songs as soon as possible”, informs Anil Dhital (bassist). Bikash Gurung, vocalist and guitarist, works in the same studio as a recording engineer/mixer, hence the band is happy that they don’t have to face engineers/mixers who have no knowledge of their kind of music. VHUMI is also planning to make a video of “Bharia”, an instrumental song featuring violin.

03 HMG MOR In A Recording Mood:

For the past one month or so, heavy rockers HMG MINISTRY OF ROCK, has been spending times at Sacred Soundz Studio, Kathmandu recording their debut album.

“We want to work on an identity sound for HMG because all five of us have a different musical background and interests,” puts Iman B Shah, guitarist for the band. “I have a 80’s metal playing style which is heavily influenced by Ritchie Blackmore. Deep (guitar) is inclined towards blues and classic rock, where as our vocalist Almoda is much more into Progressive Metal. Bardan (bassist) is heavily influenced by Iron Maiden and Anis (drummer) is more into death and thrash metal. So it’s really important for all of us to find our own sound as a band. It would not sound great if a song in the album sounds like rock, another metal, another blues.. that’s not what we want as a band.”

“We have compositions and basic layouts of several songs enough for a full length album. However, because of busy schedules, we haven’t had enough time to sit down and work regularly. So it’s gonna take some time.”

04 New I2ST Songs For Download:

According to Vishal Rai – guitarist of now defunct ramailo-core punk band I2ST, three songs from the unreleased “Chokeslamming Children Is Fun [EP]” are up for download. These songs were recorded at Little Star Studio in June 2006 and I2ST were responsible for everything that has to be done in a studio – from the recording to the mixing.

Needless to say, the EP is a bit rough.

05 Release of RISE OF THE EASTERN BLOOD CD:

Demonstealer Records (India) has released a split CD, ‘Rise Of The Eastern Blood’ which showcases 3 of the subcontinents best bands: DEMONIC RESURRECTION (India), SEVERE DEMENTIA (Bangladesh) and DUSK (Pakistan). The CD is complete with bonus tracks – 2 songs from a band called HELMSKEY (Singapore).

The music on this CD spans various genres: DEMONIC RESURRECTION’s brand of demonic metal which merges power/death and black metal. SEVERE DEMENTIA plays brutal death metal with a heavy dose of technicality and also experimental passages in their music molding all their influences. Dark, brooding and sinister is the best way to describe the doom/death genre that DUSK plays. And finally, HELMSKEY with their melodic black metal style of music.
